Hide grader work sorts hides, skins and partly processed leather by quality, defects, weight and specification before the material moves further in production.

Overview

Hide graders inspect batches of raw hides, skins, wet blue and crust leather. They judge natural characteristics, visible damage and category, then assign a grade and trim material where needed.
