AltoTrail (“we”, “us”) provides a job search assistant that helps you find job listings and generate draft documents (such as a CV and cover letter) based on the information you provide. This policy explains what data we process and why.

What data we process
- Information you enter: For example target role/title, free-text profile information, and optional search preferences.
- Generated content: Draft CV and cover letter text generated from your inputs.
- Technical data: Basic logs needed to operate and secure the service (for example request timing, error logs, and abuse prevention signals).
- Local device storage: We may store small settings in your browser (for example theme preference) to improve usability. This data stays in your browser unless you clear it.
AI processing and generated content
The Service uses automated systems to generate text suggestions and documents. Generated outputs may be incomplete or inaccurate and should always be reviewed and edited by the user before being used in job applications.
What we do NOT do
- We do not send your personal information to employers.
- We do not publish your profile or generated documents publicly.
- We do not sell your data.
Why we process data
- To provide the service: run job searches and generate drafts you request.
- To maintain security and reliability: prevent abuse, diagnose errors, and improve stability.
Legal basis (GDPR)
- Performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b)): to deliver the features you request.
- Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)): to secure and operate the service responsibly.
AI processing and third parties
When you generate documents, your input text may be processed by an AI service provider acting as a processor on our behalf (for example, OpenAI). We only send what is necessary to generate the requested output.
Job listing sources
AltoTrail may retrieve job listing data from external sources (for example national or European job portals). Job listings remain the property of their respective providers. Users should verify details on the original source before applying.
Retention
We aim to minimize retention. Your browser may keep local settings until you clear them. Server-side data (such as logs) is retained only as long as necessary for security and operations, then deleted or anonymized.
Your rights
Depending on your situation, you may have the right to access, rectify, delete, or restrict processing of your data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise your rights, contact us at info@altotrail.com.
Complaints
If you are in the EU/EEA and believe we handle your data unlawfully, you can lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. In Sweden, this is IMY (Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten).
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data. No system is perfectly secure, and you should avoid entering sensitive information you do not want processed.
