About the preparation levels
What the preparation levels mean
Matching uses only O*NET occupations in the selected preparation level. These are linked to European occupations, whose education and experience requirements may differ.
Level 1 – Some preparation
May include upper-secondary preparation, short workplace training, or limited prior experience.
Level 2 – Vocational preparation
Includes vocational education, apprenticeship, relevant experience, longer workplace training, or shorter post-secondary education.
Level 3 – Extensive preparation
Includes higher education, extensive relevant experience, or substantial vocational preparation.
Level 4 – Advanced preparation
Includes advanced academic or professional education and extensive specialist preparation or experience.
